When I was about 11 years old I dug around our front garden with a small spade while my grandpa decorated our garden with beautiful flowering plants and shrubs. Grandpa was responsible for turning a mere lawn into attractive flowerbeds and hedges, appropriately proportioned shrubs, walkways and driveways, and he even built a driveway. For the front entry he added large decorative pots and carefully selected statuary that became a warm greeting for our guests. The finishing touch was a pair of lion statues on the driveway entry posts. Grandpa's attention to detail to the different aspects of the garden, front yard and driveway was my first decorating ideas which I have gradually built upon over the years. I am very enthusiastic about garden decor. I even try different ideas every few years to give my garden a new look. I find it refreshing and satisfying sitting at my front doorsteps on Sunday mornings enjoying my garden and its decor. Here I share some of my garden decorating ideas.
